INGREDIENTS:
2½ pounds beef, rib or sirloin
4 medium sized onions
2 tablespoons of butter
2 tablespoons of flour
4 carrots
2 cups water
4 tomatoes
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
Bay leaves
Thyme
3 tablespoons of vinegar
Seasonings to taste
DIRECTIONS:
Peel onions, and cut them into quarters
Peel carrots and cut them into quarters
Cut tomatoes into small cubes
Heat the butter in a frying pan
Put in meat and vegetables until they develop a brownish-gold colour
Sprinkle with flour
Remove meat and vegetables from frying pan
Put meat and vegetables in a kettle
Add all other ingredients
Cover
Let everything cook slowly for about 1 hour.
Serve immediately
